O what else should Jesus do

Other than to die for thee?

He hath shed His blood for thee,

Unto thee to reconcile.

Why should ye deny Jesus?

Why should ye want to perish?

He draws thee nigh with His blood,

Will it be in vain for thee?

Sinners turn, why will ye die?

God resolv'd it so to be,

And He will make thee to live.

All people will He receive.

If He desires thy death,

Will He then call thee to live?

Listen to His voice which says,

Sinners, why should ye perish?

Sinners turn, why will ye die?

The Lord is nigh unto thee.

Behold thy Saviour standing.

Stretch the hand of peace to thee,

Wilt thou not come unto me?

Giver of life now calls thee,

Ne’er think that I love thee not.

Sinners, why should ye perish?

Wilt thou still be doubtful of

The love of thy God today?

Wilt thou be unbeliever

To His promise land His word?

See thy Saviour who suffered,

pIn faith to His affliction,

Hark the calling of His blood,

Saying, why should ye perish?
