Hymn 230
If all my sins could be written down
Meter: 11.10.11.8.
Scripture: Luke 7:47
1
If all my sins could be written down,
So I might their blackness see,
No joy of earth could my sorrows drown,
But God has forgiven me.
CHORUS
He blotted them out with His precious blood,
He wash’d my sins away,
And now I belong to the Lord for aye,
And He is mine today.
2
If I could measure from west to east,
To see where my sins might be,
I could not find them the worst or least,
For God has forgiven me.
3
Since God remembers my sins no more,
But buried them in the sea,
I'll sing His praises, His name adore,
For God has forgiven me.
