The rugged cross is all my gain

There the great sacrifice was made

There the Saviour was crucified

And there He bled and died for me.

What could have moved His heart to bear

And to suffer for all my sins?

Not knowing why, is the reason

My heart is so cold towards Thee.

Silently, then I grew ashamed

Before my Holy Saviour, Lord

Who shed His life blood for my sake

His love to me, beyond compare.
