Have we e’er heard those weighty words,

That we are buried with the Lord,

Planted together in his death,

That body of sin be destroyed.

Our hearts receive a new spirit,

As it is raised up from the dead;

So Christ also rose from the grave,

And lives in heav’n above with God.

Therefore, let not the devil reign

No more in your mortal body;

All sins that have bound us before,

They shall no more have dominion.
