Fierce the storm that may beat around me

Fierce the storm that may beat around me
And temptation strong confound me
Still I need not fear, if my Lord is near
While His loving voice I hear.

None of these things shall ever move me
While I in Him abide
He is my comfort and helper
Jesus the crucified.

Friends untrue may oft distress me
And the cares of life oppress me
Still I’ll trust His love, for He reigns above
And my faith in Him I’ll prove.

Still His precious word commands it
In the dark or light, trust by faith not sight
